Sing your way to better lungs: online choir trial for cancer survivors
NCT ID NCT07460999
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether 10 weeks of online singing training can reduce symptoms and improve physical function and quality of life in people who had surgery for non-small cell lung cancer 6 to 18 months ago. One hundred participants will be randomly assigned to either the singing program or usual care. The singing sessions include breathing exercises, vocal warm-ups, and songs, all delivered via video by trained instructors.

- Singing for Lung Health (SLH) training
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a simple, home-based way to help lung cancer survivors feel better and breathe easier after surgery.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial with only 100 participants. The singing intervention may not provide meaningful benefits over usual care, and results may not apply to all patients.
