New online tool helps young breast cancer patients make fertility decisions
NCT ID NCT03591848
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study compared two ways of giving information to young women (ages 18-40) newly diagnosed with breast cancer who haven't started treatment yet. One group received standard face-to-face advice about preserving fertility, while the other used an online decision support tool before that conversation. The goal was to see if the online tool helped women feel more informed and confident in their choices. 186 women took part, and the study measured their decision-making comfort and anxiety levels.
