NCT ID NCT06804941

First seen Aug 17, 2026 · Last updated Aug 17, 2026

Summary

This trial tests whether an internet-based form of cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) can reduce symptoms of common mental disorders like anxiety, depression, and stress-related conditions in adults seeking primary care. About 500 participants will be randomly assigned to either the online therapy program or to usual primary care. The online program includes structured modules, worksheets, and weekly therapist feedback through a secure platform. The study will compare changes in psychological distress, disability, and work ability over up to two years.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Online transdiagnostic cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) delivered through a secure web platform with therapist feedback
What this could lead to
If effective, this could offer a scalable, accessible treatment option for common mental disorders in primary care, potentially reducing symptoms and improving daily functioning.
What could go wrong
The trial is early and results may not show a clear advantage over usual care. Online therapy may not suit everyone, and outcomes depend on patient engagement and therapist support.
