Summary
This study tested a fish oil emulsion called Omegaven in 36 children with liver disease caused by long-term intravenous (IV) nutrition. The goal was to see if it could lower high bilirubin levels, a sign of liver damage. Children who were dependent on IV nutrition and had high bilirubin levels were included. The treatment helped improve liver function in some children.
