Could simple supplements slow down type 1 diabetes?

NCT ID NCT03406897

Summary

This small, early-stage study tested whether taking high doses of omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin D is safe and might help people with type 1 diabetes. The goal was to see if these supplements could protect the body's remaining insulin-producing cells, potentially slowing the disease's progress and reducing the need for insulin injections. The study involved 27 participants, both children and adults, who had been recently diagnosed or had the condition for up to 10 years.
