Fish oil pills tested as gentle alternative to harsh prostate cancer treatment

NCT ID NCT03753334

Summary

This study is testing whether daily high-dose fish oil supplements can slow the progression of prostate cancer in men whose cancer is returning after initial treatment. Forty men with rising PSA levels but no visible spread of cancer will take either the fish oil supplement or a placebo pill for one year. Researchers hope this natural supplement might delay the need for stronger hormone therapy and its difficult side effects.
