Fish oil pills tested to protect vision from diabetes damage
NCT ID NCT04499820
Summary
This study tested whether taking daily omega-3 supplements could help improve blood vessel health in the eyes of people with early-stage diabetic retinopathy. Researchers enrolled 60 adults with minimal to moderate diabetic eye changes and gave them either omega-3 or a placebo for six months. They used special eye scans to measure changes in tiny blood vessels in the retina to see if the supplements made a difference.
