Summary

This completed study looked at whether daily omega-3 fatty acid supplements can help keep the small blood vessels in the eyes healthy in adults with type 1 diabetes. 82 participants took omega-3 supplements and had regular eye exams to measure changes in their retinal blood vessels. The goal was to see if this simple supplement could slow or prevent early diabetic eye disease.
