First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 36 times

Summary

This study looks at whether taking omega-3 fatty acid supplements (like fish oil) can help prevent breast cancer from returning in women who have already been treated. Eighty women with a specific type of breast cancer (hormone receptor negative) will take either a low or high dose of omega-3s for 12 months. Researchers will check breast tissue samples for changes in markers linked to cancer risk.
