New drug aims to shrink dangerous plaque in heart arteries

Summary
This study tests a drug called olpasiran in people with stable heart disease and high levels of lipoprotein(a), a genetic risk factor. The goal is to see if olpasiran can reduce non-calcified plaque in the heart arteries compared to a placebo over 72 weeks. About 406 adults aged 35 to 80 with a history of heart attack or stent placement are being recruited.
