First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tests a quicker way to plan stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for people whose cancer has spread to up to five spots (oligometastatic disease). Normally, planning SBRT takes a week or more because it requires a separate CT scan. Here, doctors will use the patient's existing diagnostic scans (CT, MRI, or PET) to plan treatment immediately, skipping the extra scan and planning delay. The goal is to see if this faster approach is safe and works well for treating these cancer spots.
