New pain drug may stop chronic pain after lung surgery

Summary

This study tests if a painkiller called oliceridine can prevent long-term pain after lung surgery better than the usual drug, sufentanil. About 320 adults having keyhole lung surgery will receive one of the two drugs through a pump they control. The main goal is to see if fewer people have chronic pain three months after surgery.
