Scientists test pill & radiation combo for tough breast cancer

NCT ID NCT03109080

Summary

This early-stage trial tested the safety of combining a pill called olaparib with standard radiation therapy. It involved 24 women with advanced or hard-to-treat triple-negative breast cancer that had not fully responded to prior chemotherapy. The main goal was to find the highest dose of olaparib that could be safely given alongside radiation without causing severe side effects.
