Can your phone help you quit smoking? new app trial seeks answers

NCT ID NCT05539209

Summary

This study tested whether a new smartphone app called OKquit could help people quit smoking when added to standard support from a state helpline. Researchers enrolled 512 adults in Oklahoma who wanted to quit and randomly assigned them to receive either standard helpline care or standard care plus the OKquit app. The app provided on-demand tips and personalized messages, and the study followed participants for about 6 months to see if the app helped them stay smoke-free.
