First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a mobile app called OkeyMind can reduce social anxiety and depression in young people aged 15 to 24. The app provides psychoeducation and guided meditation over one month. 180 participants will be randomly assigned to use the app immediately or wait three months. Researchers will measure changes in anxiety, depression, and quality of life at one and three months.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
mobile psychoeducation program (OkeyMind) with meditation
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a low-cost, accessible way to reduce social anxiety and depression in young people, especially where mental health resources are scarce.
What could go wrong
This is a relatively small trial (180 people) testing a short-term app-based program. The effects may be modest, and long-term benefits are unknown. No serious risks are expected, but the app may not help everyone.
