Summary
This study aims to understand how Ohio's START program helps rural families where a parent struggles with substance use. Researchers will follow 400 families for a year to see if connecting parents to nearby treatment services and providing peer mentors leads to reduced substance use, stronger family bonds, and better outcomes for children. The goal is to learn what works best to support recovery and child well-being in rural communities.
