Summary
This study aims to understand how a support program called Ohio START helps rural families where a parent struggles with substance use. Researchers will follow 400 families for a year to see if connecting parents to nearby treatment services and providing guidance from mentors who have been through similar experiences leads to better recovery and healthier family outcomes. The goal is to learn what works best to support parents, prevent child harm, and build family strength in rural communities.
