Lab-Grown immune cells deployed to fight virus in vulnerable patients

NCT ID NCT03425526

Summary

This early-stage study is testing a new treatment for adenovirus infections in people with weakened immune systems, such as cancer patients. Doctors are giving patients specially grown immune cells (T-cells) from healthy donors that are trained to attack the adenovirus. The main goals are to see if this treatment is safe and to get early signs of whether it can help clear the virus.
