New registry tracks Odevixibat's Long-Term impact on rare liver disease
NCT ID NCT07185919
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Aug 04, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This registry will follow 10 people with progressive familial intrahepatic cholestasis (PFIC) in South Korea who are taking odevixibat (Bylvay). The goal is to see how safe and effective the drug is over the long term in real-world use. Researchers will track side effects and how long patients go without needing surgery or a liver transplant.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- odevixibat (Bylvay)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this registry could confirm that odevixibat is safe and effective for long-term use in PFIC patients, supporting its continued use as a treatment option.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small registry (10 people) in one country, not a controlled trial. It tracks real-world use, so results may not prove cause and effect or apply to all PFIC patients.
