New eye scan study aims to unlock Glaucoma's secrets
NCT ID NCT06274593
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study follows 50 people with advanced glaucoma for three years, using a special eye scan (OCT angiography) to measure blood flow around the optic nerve. Researchers want to see how these scans compare with standard vision tests in tracking the disease. The goal is to better understand how glaucoma damages eyesight over time.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could help doctors better predict how glaucoma progresses by using a non-invasive imaging test.
What could go wrong
This is a small, observational study with only 50 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. It is not testing a treatment, so it won't directly improve vision.
