First seen Apr 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 09, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding a structured exercise program to standard mouthguard (occlusal splint) therapy can better reduce jaw pain and improve function in people with temporomandibular disorders (TMD). About 38 adults with TMD will either receive the mouthguard alone or the mouthguard plus exercises. Researchers will measure jaw movement, pain sensitivity, and muscle stiffness over 4 weeks to see if the combined approach works better.
