Summary
This study aims to understand how inflammation in body fat is connected to liver damage and insulin resistance in people with severe obesity. Researchers will examine tissue samples from 60 participants who are already scheduled for gastric bypass surgery. The goal is to gather knowledge that could inform future treatments, but this study itself does not test a new therapy.
