Gut check: can your Colon's fermentation explain insulin resistance?

NCT ID NCT06768827

First seen Oct 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looks at how the gut's fermentation process affects insulin resistance in teenagers and young adults with obesity. Researchers will give a sugar drink (lactulose) to see how it changes fat breakdown and sugar production in the body. The goal is to better understand the link between gut health and obesity-related problems, not to test a new treatment.
