Scientists scan guts to unlock why some people stay obese
NCT ID NCT03860623
Summary
This study aimed to understand why obesity develops and persists by comparing how the body processes food in obese and lean individuals. Researchers used MRI scans and blood tests on 20 men to measure how quickly food left the stomach, blood flow to the gut, and levels of hormones that control hunger and fullness. The goal was to gather basic knowledge about the physical and hormonal differences that might contribute to obesity.
