Scientists scan guts to unlock obesity secrets
NCT ID NCT03860623
Summary
This study aimed to understand why obesity develops and persists by comparing how the bodies of obese and lean men process food. Researchers used MRI scans and blood tests to measure how quickly food left the stomach, blood flow to the gut, and levels of hormones that control feelings of fullness after a meal. The goal was to gather basic knowledge to inform future research on obesity treatments.
