New combo aims to shed fat, not muscle, in weight loss fight

NCT ID NCT05933499

Summary

This study is testing if using two investigational drugs together—tirzepatide and bimagrumab—alongside a lifestyle program leads to better body composition changes than either drug alone in adults with obesity. The goal is to see if the combination helps people lose more fat while preserving important muscle mass and bone health over one year. Researchers will measure changes in body fat, muscle, and insulin sensitivity in 63 participants.
