First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026

Summary

This study looks at how obesity is linked to oral health problems like gum disease, cavities, and tooth erosion. Researchers will follow 400 adults who are getting weight-loss treatment (either lifestyle changes or surgery) at a hospital in Norway. They will check participants' mouths and teeth before treatment and again at 3, 12, and 18 months after to see if weight loss improves oral health.
