First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study aims to understand why obesity increases the risk of a specific type of heart failure called HFpEF, where the heart becomes stiff. Researchers will follow 250 people with obesity for two years, using heart ultrasounds and blood tests to detect early signs of heart problems and see how weight loss from surgery may help. The goal is to improve future treatments and prevention strategies.
