New DNA vaccine aims to keep liver cancer at bay after surgery
NCT ID NCT07324304
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This phase 2 trial tests a DNA vaccine called NWRD06 in 30 people with a specific type of liver cancer (GPC3-positive) who have had surgery to remove their tumors. The vaccine is given as a shot followed by a mild electric pulse to help it enter cells. The goal is to see if it can keep the cancer from coming back for at least 72 weeks.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
NWRD06 DNA plasmid vaccine
What this could lead to
If successful, this could help prevent liver cancer from coming back after surgery, offering a new way to control the disease.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase trial with only 30 people, so results may not apply widely. The vaccine may not prevent recurrence and could cause side effects.
