Could a simple neck device ease chronic pain and dizziness?

NCT ID NCT07409363

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This small pilot study is testing whether a non-invasive device that stimulates the vagus nerve (nVNS) can help people with long-term muscle and joint pain who also have problems with automatic body functions like blood pressure, digestion, and heart rate. Twelve adults with chronic pain and confirmed autonomic dysfunction will use the device or a sham (inactive) device twice daily for two weeks each, with a break in between. The goal is to see if the treatment reduces symptoms like dizziness, fatigue, and pain, and to gather information for a larger future study.
