Special drink aims to speed up recovery after bowel surgery
NCT ID NCT07506187
Summary
This study tested whether a special high-protein nutritional drink containing an ingredient called arginine could help prevent complications after colorectal surgery. It involved 44 adult patients who were malnourished or at risk of malnutrition. Researchers compared the special arginine-enriched drink to a standard nutritional drink to see if it reduced infections, wound problems, and hospital stay length.
