First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study looks at the nutritional effects of a low-calorie, high-protein diet given to people before they have weight-loss (bariatric) surgery. The goal is to see if this diet causes any health problems like low blood cell counts, vitamin deficiency, or muscle weakness. About 200 adults with severe obesity will take part, and their results will help doctors understand how to best prepare patients for surgery.
