Massive china study tracks lasting effects of Anti-Cancer vitamins

NCT ID NCT00342654

Summary

This study followed over 30,000 people in China for years after they took part in trials testing vitamin and mineral supplements to prevent stomach and esophageal cancer. The goal was to see if the health benefits from the supplements lasted after people stopped taking them and to collect more information to understand what causes these cancers. Researchers tracked cancer cases and deaths, conducted health surveys, and collected blood samples to look for genetic and environmental links to disease.
