Can a protein shake speed up joint surgery recovery?

NCT ID NCT04210284

Summary

This study is testing whether giving oral nutritional supplements to older patients who are nutritionally deficient can improve their recovery after hip or knee replacement surgery. Researchers will measure specific blood markers related to nutrition before and after surgery to see if the supplements help. The goal is to see if this simple intervention can become a standard part of care to help patients heal better.
