NCT ID NCT06640478
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This pilot study tests whether giving children (ages 6-17) with newly diagnosed stage 3 type 1 diabetes free healthy foods and intensive nutrition counseling, alongside standard insulin therapy, can prolong the 'honeymoon phase' and preserve beta cell function. The study enrolls 20 participants and measures feasibility, diet quality, and metabolic outcomes over 12 weeks of intervention and follow-up. It aims to inform larger future trials on medical nutrition therapy for type 1 diabetes.
