Nurses on the front line: new study aims to catch arthritis flares before they worsen

NCT ID NCT03027999

Summary

This study tested whether close, regular check-ups by a specialized nurse could spot the early return of rheumatoid arthritis symptoms in patients whose disease was well-controlled with the drug rituximab. The goal was to see if this nurse-led monitoring could detect a flare-up sooner than standard doctor visits, potentially allowing for quicker treatment adjustments. The study involved 51 adults with rheumatoid arthritis who were in remission or had low disease activity.
