Nurses on front lines to stop child gun deaths in new hospital safety push
NCT ID NCT07501247
Summary
This study tests whether a brief, nurse-led conversation about safe gun storage with parents of hospitalized children can prevent firearm injuries and deaths. Nurses will talk to parents about locking up firearms and offer a free cable lock. Researchers want to see if this program changes how parents store guns at home and if nurses can easily make it part of their regular duties.
