First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This Phase 2 trial tests an oral drug called NS-863 in 135 adults with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), a condition where high blood pressure in the lungs makes it hard to breathe. Participants will receive either a low dose, high dose, or placebo for 24 weeks. The main goal is to see if NS-863 improves blood flow in the lungs and is safe.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

NS-863 (an oral drug)

What this could lead to

If successful, this could point toward a new oral treatment option to help control pulmonary arterial hypertension and improve blood flow in the lungs.

What could go wrong

This is an early Phase 2 trial with only 135 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The drug may not work better than placebo, and side effects are possible.
