Laser light may boost brain recovery after severe head trauma

NCT ID NCT07520383

First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This early-stage study tests whether a noninvasive laser treatment called Nanopulse Laser Therapy (NPLT) can safely help people recover from moderate to severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). About 30 adults admitted to intensive care will receive the laser within 48 hours of injury. Researchers will check if the treatment is feasible and measure changes in brain biomarkers to see how the body responds.
