First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested a dietary supplement called NP-2006 in 48 healthy adults who had mild, ongoing sleep troubles (subclinical insomnia). Participants took either the supplement or a placebo pill daily before bed for 4 weeks. Researchers measured sleep quality and daytime sleepiness using questionnaires and a wrist monitor to see if the supplement helped improve sleep efficiency.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a natural option for people with mild sleep problems to get better rest without prescription drugs.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 48 people. The supplement may not work better than a placebo, and results may not apply to everyone with insomnia.
