Laser zaps small breast tumors, no scalpel needed
NCT ID NCT03463954
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a laser device called Novilase that destroys small breast tumors (≤15 mm) using heat, without cutting them out. About 122 women will receive the laser treatment, and researchers will check if it works as well as standard lumpectomy. The goal is to see if this less invasive approach can reduce the need for repeat procedures and speed up recovery.
