New Low-Field MRI could sharpen breast cancer detection

NCT ID NCT05486520

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study is testing a new way to take MRI images of the breast using a very low magnetic field. The goal is to see if this method can produce clearer pictures of breast cancer. About 40 women with benign or malignant breast tumors will be scanned, and the results will be compared to standard mammograms, ultrasounds, and regular MRIs. The new MRI is for research only and will not be used to guide treatment.
