Can cancer patients skip the clinic? home blood sampling trial shows promise
NCT ID NCT04960059
First seen Apr 01, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looked at whether people with advanced cancers (melanoma, kidney, or lung cancer) receiving first-line immunotherapy can successfully collect small blood samples at home using a finger-prick method. 24 patients participated, and the goal was to see if home testing is practical and if the samples are good enough for lab analysis. The results will help design future studies that may reduce hospital visits for patients on immunotherapy.
