First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 05, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study measured normal nasalance scores in 131 French-speaking children aged 8-10 using a non-invasive device called a nasometer. The goal was to create a reference for doctors to better diagnose velopharyngeal dysfunction, often seen in children with cleft palate. Participants included both children without clefts and those with clefts, providing a broad baseline.
