Better drug found for low blood pressure in C-Sections?

NCT ID NCT07153601

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tested two medicines, norepinephrine and phenylephrine, to treat low blood pressure that can happen during a C-section. 46 women having planned C-sections received one of the drugs when their blood pressure dropped. Both worked well, but norepinephrine kept the heart rate more stable. The results suggest norepinephrine may be a better choice for managing this common side effect of spinal anesthesia.
