Deep cleaning showdown: one session or three for gum disease?
NCT ID NCT07272980
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether splitting deep cleaning into three sessions works better than doing it all at once for people with severe gum disease. 48 non-smoking adults with advanced periodontitis were randomly assigned to one of the two cleaning methods. Researchers checked gum health, inflammation markers, and bacteria levels over 6 months to see which approach leads to better outcomes.
