Rectal cancer patients may avoid surgery with new Watch-and-Wait approach

Summary
This study tests whether people with rectal cancer who have a complete response to initial treatment can safely avoid surgery. About 200 participants will be monitored closely to see how well this non-operative approach works. The goal is to preserve the rectum and maintain good cancer outcomes.
