Ear zap may tune heart's electrical rhythm, tiny study suggests
NCT ID NCT05350150
First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This small pilot study tests whether a non-invasive device that gently stimulates a nerve in the ear can affect the heart's electrical system. Ten adults already scheduled for a heart procedure will receive the stimulation while doctors measure changes in heart timing and rhythm. The goal is to learn more about how the vagus nerve influences heart function, not to treat any condition.
