Ear zap tames skipped beats in drug-free heart study
NCT ID NCT05341544
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tested a gentle electrical stimulation applied to the ear (low-level tragus stimulation) to see if it could reduce frequent premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) — extra heartbeats that can cause discomfort. Sixty adults who could not take or did not respond to standard heart-rhythm medications participated. The approach is non-invasive and aims to ease symptoms without drugs.
