Breathe-Hold MRI could replace painful liver biopsy

Summary

This study is testing a new, fast MRI method to measure liver scarring (fibrosis) without needing a needle biopsy. The scan takes less than 8 seconds while you hold your breath. Researchers will compare the MRI results with standard tests in 200 adults with liver disease and healthy volunteers. If successful, this could make early diagnosis of liver damage easier and safer.
